Films are no less than any products available in the market. With time, the value of the film either goes up or goes down. Various factors contribute to the existence, success, and survival of a product, and it is the same for a movie as well. Sometimes, the more a film gets delayed, the more it gains negativity, and sometimes, it can also be a positive factor when it was made with less-known actors and technicians. Now, the discussion point is Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu and how it is a big hit before the release in gaining attention.
Hari Hara Veera Mallu began long back, in the direction of Krish Jagarlamudi. Pawan’s political commitments pushed the film beyond expectations and many other factors also contributed to the film’s delays. As a result, at one point, the film bagged the negativity that it is going to get shelved indefinitely.
Somehow, things changed. Even after the director walked out and Pawan stayed away from the shoots, producer AM Rathnam brought in his son Jyothi Krishna to complete the film’s shoot. They first finished the shoot of the scenes that Pawan does not feature. Dodging the negativity, speculations, and low buzz situations, the team somehow survived.
When films face delays, especially contemporary ones, there’s always the high risk of the product feeling stale. It was clearly visible recently in the case of Game Changer. Despite having a star cast and star director driving the project, the product became outdated. The pre-release buzz was also low key which was again due to the other films releasing during Sankranthi.
Having said that, Hari Hara Veera Mallu has one key advantage now. Set in the 17th century, the film’s period backdrop frees it from the pressure of staying current, giving it breathing room despite the delays. Content-wise, it is a big advantage. On the other hand, when everyone thought that OG is picking up hype and HHVM is lagging behind, the recent developments brought the film back into the limelight.
The theatre shutdown controversy, the alleged conspiracy to stall the release of HHVM, and the press note from Pawan Kalyan caught the attention of film and political circles at once. OG team also decided to go slow on their promotions to give room for HHVM.
The entire team of HHVM is currently active now and considering the recent developments, it is safe to assume that it is a hit before the release.
