Hanu-Man director Prasanth Varma and the film’s producer Niranjan Reddy are now publicly involved in a financial dispute as the rift got exposed with both sides making strong allegations on each other in their recent official letters to the Tollywood Producer’s Council and the Director’s association.
A few days ago, Tollywood media was buzzing with the fallout between Prasanth Varma and producers of his upcoming films over hefty advances and pending commitments. There are reports that Niranjan Reddy of Primeshow Entertainment is also one among them who paid advances to the director for more additional projects after Hanu-Man.
As the financial controversy grabbed the headlines in the media and within the industry circles, the complaint letter of Niranjan Reddy and the reply given by Prasanth Varma to the allegations made in the complaint are finally revealed to the public.
Brief of Niranjan Reddy’s complaint letter dated 11.10.2025:
The Hanu-Man producer claims that he paid a total of Ten Crores to Prasanth Varma who committed to make five other movies after Hanu-Man under the name and style of Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe. Niranjan Reddy alleged that he paid the amount in several installments at different stages during their association to make five films titled Adhira, Mahakali, Jai Hanuman, Brahma Rakshas and Octopus.
Niranjan Reddy further alleged that Prasanth went back on his promise to direct these films and additionally came up with the proposal only supervise a couple of films as his associates will handle the direction. He also added that Prasanth Varma made false promises to his production company after taking money and later collaborated with other producers to make Jai Hanuman and Brahma Rakshas. He alleged that none of these projects have really went on floors even after two years since they paid him advances.
Citing financial loss and reputational damage and unnecessary mental stress due to this entire saga, Niranjan Reddy requested the council to intervene and direct Prasanth Varma to pay a staggering sum of 200 Crores as compensation to his company. He also requested production houses like Hombale Films, Mythri Movie Makers and RKD Studios not to proceed with the further shooting or production of all five films.
Prasanth Varma’s Counter to Allegations: The Hanu-Man director submitted a detailed reply to the allegations made by the producer and categorically denied all the averments made against him. He called the claims baseless, unquantified and further said that the allegations were made to deny him the legitimate demand for recovery of his monies.
Prasanth Varma asserted that Hanu-Man was supposed to be completed in 12 months but got delayed due to the financial constraints of Niranjan Reddy. He also accused the producer of intentionally hiding some facts from their aggreement that they would share the net profits in 50:50 ratio in exchange of valuable rights given up by the director.
He further revealed that Hanu-Man collected 295 Crores at the box office but only 7 Crores and 82 lakhs were paid to him after the release of the film. He alleged that Niranjan Reddy has been avoiding the financial obligations made in the agreement and shockingly proceeded to lodge a complaint in order to evade his liabilities.
Prasanth Varma also came up with a point wise reply to all the allegations made by the producer over the commitments made for directing five other films.
With both sides coming up with serious allegations and counter arguments, the question now is that whether the council will interfere and settle the financial issue amicably or not. Prasanth Varma is already under immense pressure to complete at least one of his upcoming projects because of the mounting financial burden on producers.
