Negative PR and social media trolling of film stars is not a new concept in the Indian film industry. Even though fans and audiences are waking up to this targeted harassment, several stars across the country have been victims of paid trolling. There have been rumours that several film stars shell out lakhs and crores of money to pull down their competitors.
In a recent interview, Pooja Hegde, who first spoke about the paid negative campaign against her last year, has once again opened up about how she was viciously trolled and how she felt like she was targeted. Pooja also stated that a lot of celebrities have spoken about it ever since she called out negative PR propaganda.
Pooja revealed how the negative PR against her affected her and her family. “When it started, my mom was the one who got really upset by reading stuff and said, ‘Why are they saying this?’ and I used to take it as a compliment because if somebody needs to pull you down, you’re above them. I can only pull down someone who’s above me. “So I would tell my mom, ‘It’s ok, Mom, let it be,’” Pooja added.
The gorgeous beauty further said she is very scared about Karma. “I believe that karma is a thing, and whatever you put out there, good or bad, it comes back; it manifolds. The kind of love I get when I come on screen and people are throwing papers—that is tangible. People ask me for selfies at the airport. These are real people,” said Monica of Coolie.
Pooja went on to say that social media is not real. “These are bots. These are fake people, if you click on their names, they don’t have any posts. “I don’t know who these viciously trolling people are,” said Pooja Hegde. The actress will soon be seen in the ‘Monica’ special song in Coolie.
