Dil Raju is one of the senior producers in the film industry who made a big noise at the time of the release of Sankranthi ki Vasthunam. He officially announced that he had made a strong comeback, and a new phase of his career also took off with the film’s success. Also, he is one of the very few producers who understand the film business very well. In a recent interview with FilmShlim Pro, Dil Raju has shared his thought process.
When asked about his collaboration with Marco director Haneef Adeni, he clarified that he makes films sometimes for money. Usually, any production house will survive only if it makes memorable and respectable films. At the same time, the survival can not be solely on such films as they need money to run the business which comes only from action dramas and commercial potboilers no matter how much routine they or how much cringe it offers.
Dil Raju has mastered this art of producing films with a fine balance of minting money and gaining respect. Films like Bommarillu, Satamanam Bhavathi, Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and many other movies in his career brought a huge recognition as well as respect for his banner. Those films made him enter into every Telugu household. But, his filmography also needs money minters which he has clarity about.
In such a scenario, when asked about his thought process as being someone who made Bommarillu and SVSC, how would it be to produce something in the direction of a heavily criticised yet commercially successful movie, Dil Raju kept it simple by saying that they need money spinners.
Dil Raju watched and enjoyed Marco thoroughly. So he instantly said that the collaboration would be massive and they do it for money as it will have a pan-India reach, with an assured money spinning. However, he also told that it is also important to have films that bring respect. Only when they have the two, the banner flourishes.
Currently, Dil Raju is busy with the production works of Thammudu, gearing up for a release next year.
