Manchu Vishnu is betting high on his new release, Kannappa, scheduled for tomorrow. The film was made on a huge budget, and the team is excited to bring it to theatres across languages. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film features big stars like Akshay Kumar and Prabhas as well. During the film’s press meet today, Vishnu revealed that the team does not have the pressure to release the film on OTT anytime soon.
Speaking about the film’s OTT release, Vishnu said, “Kannappa will not be released on OTT at least for ten weeks. I have decided to bring the film to the audience first and want to give a great experience to them. I am happy that I do not have the OTT release pressure and there will be a 10-week window.”
Usually, for any film that is coming up in the recent past, the film’s release date is decided by the OTT platforms, keeping a 4-week window in mind. They decide the theatrical release dates and once it is locked, the makers must oblige to the same and there will be no going back.
Sometimes, when the makers have post-production delays also, the makers have to resort to the pressure from the OTT platforms to finish their film in time and release on the earlier agreed date.
