Samantha Ruth Prabhu is not an active actress in Tollywood anymore. There was a time when she was in demand, doing back-to-back films while also facing issues with how to adjust dates and juggle between movies. But, she has now come to terms with the fact that she is not very active and at the same time, does not have the success or the much-discussed 1000 Cr film in her kitty.
Speaking at the Leadership Conclave at AIMA, Samantha talked about how she has detached herself from the old version of herself, which she thought was the symbol of success. The actress recollected that she had done five films at a time, and all of them were released in a year. At that point, the definition of success is that an actress needed to have five films, a big blockbuster, and a place in the top ten actors list.
“Today, I haven’t had a film release in two years, and I am not on any lists. I don’t have a 1000-crore film, but I am the happiest I have ever been,” shared Samantha, adding that she feels no pressure at the moment.
The Ye Maya Chesave actress also realised that the shelf life of an actor is very less and then, there is a lot of destiny and grace that comes to play while being a star. “I think it was very important for me to understand that I wanted to create an impact larger than my shelf life as an actor,” said the actor.
Although Samantha enjoyed the top position for a long time in the film industry, she is nowhere to be seen now, when compared to her competitors as well as contemporaries. Surely, Samantha is a great performer, but of late, she has not been preferred by big stars and producers.
On the work front, she will next be seen in an upcoming film directed by Nandini Reddy.
