Bollywood perfectionist Aamir Khan gears up for his new release Sitaare Zameen Par. The film is the official remake of Spanish film Champions. Ahead of the film’s release tomorrow, there is a slight uncertainty in the film’s bookings. So far, it is reported that the film has weaker bookings and it is quite surprising.
Aamir Khan’s last film Lal Singh Chaddha has become a flop at the box office and it had an impact on this one too. However, despite Aamir promoting SZP very much before the release, the bookings are weak. The film is certainly different, in comparison with his last film. However, the audience are not very much interested in this project.
What’s more surprising is that Aamir was more vocal this time, about various aspects. Aamir Khan spoke about his next film with Lokesh Kanagaraj, his cameo in Coolie, the OTT model and even Mahabharat. He also spoke about the patriotism he has and many other things during the promotions. In fact, he spoke about various things more than he spoke about this film which could have been a reason for audiences showing less interest.
Directed by RS Prasanna, the film narrates the tale of a basketball coach who serves community service by training Neurodivergent adults after a DUI. His outlook changes as he learns from his players. We have to see if this film can bring Aamir back in the game.
