Tomorrow and the day after, four new movies will be hitting the box office. Normally, we’d expect a lot of excitement, but right now, there’s moderate buzz going on. After Intresting Trailer Jack slowly build the buzz, though the hype is no match to his previous film Tillu Square. Even though advance bookings for “Jack” aren’t as high as expected, the team is still hopeful that positive word-of-mouth will help it gain momentum.
As for the movie “Good Bad Ugly,” it’s doing great ticket sales in Tamil, but the response in Telugu has been quite modest. Over the past few years, Ajith’s market in Telugu has been declining. His recent films like “Valimai,” “Thunivu,” and “Viduthalai” didn’t do well, which is why there’s little excitement for “Good Bad Ugly” in the Telugu audience. Although the movie is being screened in good theaters because it’s produced by Mythri Movie Makers, its success will depend largely on the reviews. It’s already doing well in Tamil Nadu, with over 5,000 tickets being sold every hour. However, this is mostly in Tamil Nadu, and the Telugu response has been lukewarm.
Sunny Deol’s “Jatt” is only releasing in the Hindi version, which has kept some audiences away. Even though the movie features a Telugu team including Gopichand Malineni, Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishna, Regina, and Thaman, a dubbed version hasn’t been made yet due to time constraints or other reasons. If the movie receives a good response, it might be dubbed later, but delaying a commercial film like this could hurt its chances.
Lastly, “Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi,” starring anchor Pradeep, is also fighting for attention. We’ll have to wait and see which movie will succeed and which one will fall short.
