Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivn were recently in the news as some netizens attacked them on the Internet for supporting choreographer Jani, who was arrested in a POCSO case. Now, they are hitting another controversy with the producers of Chandramukhi initiating a legal action on their documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale.

As per the latest reports in the film circles, the producers of Chandramukhi alleged that the film’s footage was used in the documentary without prior permission. They accused the makers of copying the footage from YouTube and using it in the documentary.

Following this, the Madras High Court issued a legal notice to Netflix and the production company on Tuesday. The notices were issued in response to a plea by AP International, which holds the film’s copyright from the original producers, Sivaji Productions.

AP International already sent a cease notice earlier, asking to pay damages of Rs. 5 Cr rupees. But the producers approached the company for rights only after that. The company now seeks a permanent injunction from the court to prevent the producers from using the ‘Chandramukhi’ footage and is demanding the removal of all such clips from the documentary.

Earlier, Dhanush also filed a law suit against Nayanthara for allegedly using a small clip from his production venture Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.
