Nagarjuna Akkineni’s career witnessed a lot of ups and downs. He also carried the weight of nepotism at the beginning of his career. But he worked his way out and climbed up the ladder to become what he always desired. During his recent interaction with Jagapathi Babu, Nag explained how he cracked his code in the film industry.
Nagarjuna explained that during the initial days of his career, as to how people perceived him as ANR’s son and encouraged him only for that reason. “People were watching the movie because of my father and they wanted to see me how I will fare. But I later decided to go after my calling. In between, I did films like Aakhari Poratam, Majnu, and others. Majnu gave me a good break as well,” he said.
On the other hand, Nagarjuna then revealed how he ran after director Mani Ratnam for 6 months to get Geethanjali happen. “I used to land up at his office every day at 6 AM. He used to go to walking at that time. I convinced him to do Geethanjali, and that is how it happened. He initially wanted to do it in Tamil. But, I suggested that the film to be made in Telugu so that his market will grow,” Nag said.
Nagarjuna was last seen in Coolie, starring Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role.
