After years of dominating the big screen, Megastar Chiranjeevi is finally ready to explore the OTT space. Speaking at the Kuberaa success meet, Chiru confirmed that he is mentally prepared to take up web series or digital films, provided the content excites him.
For fans, this is welcome news. With senior stars like Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, and Balakrishna already making an impact on OTT platforms, it was only a matter of time before Chiranjeevi considered the same. Now, the Megastar has made it clear he is open to the idea.
A few years ago, he was approached for The Family Man series. However, the timing and the role didn’t appeal to him, so he turned it down. But Chiranjeevi says the situation has changed. “If a powerful, meaningful role comes my way, I’m ready for OTT,” he confirmed.
His comments came after praising Nagarjuna for making bold choices, particularly his unconventional role in Kuberaa. Chiranjeevi admitted that seeing his friend take such risks inspired him to consider new platforms and genres.
The Megastar also brought his trademark humour to the stage. “Just because I said I’m ready, don’t turn up at my house tomorrow morning with a pile of scripts,” he quipped, sending the audience into laughter.
OTT platforms in India have become a powerhouse for storytelling, giving actors the freedom to experiment beyond commercial cinema. For a star of Chiranjeevi’s stature, making a digital debut is not just about reaching new audiences but about finding satisfying, meaningful content.
Though there’s no official word yet on which OTT project Chiru will take up first, his statement has already generated excitement across the industry. Fans and filmmakers are eagerly waiting to see the Megastar bring his presence to the digital screen, just as he has ruled theatres for decades.
