Suchata Opal Chuangsri from Thailand was crowned Miss World 2025 at the Grand Finale held in Hyderabad. She received the prize money of Rs 8.5 crore.

Despite being the host country, India has failed to secure a position in the Top 8 for the title.

Ethiopian contestant Hasset Dereje Admassu was declared the first runner-up while Maja Klajda from Poland emerged as the second runner-up followed by Martinique’s Aurelie Joachim as the third runner-up.

India’s Nandini Gupta, 21, is out of the Miss World 2025 race, according to the official page of Miss World, on Instagram.

Nandini, hailing from Kaithun near Kota in Rajasthan, was one among the 18 contestants who ‘fast tracked’ their way into the Top 40 category at the pageant on Saturday evening at the Hitex Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad.

The event kicked off with the introduction of the 108 contestants. Then the top 10 contestants from each of the four continents were announced followed by the announcement of the Top 5 from each of the four continents. Then the hosts announced the Top 2 from each continent, who made it to the Top 8. In this round, Miss Philippines and Miss Thailand made it to the top from Asia.

The Top 8 finalists for Miss World 2025 were revealed.

The list is as follows:

Americas and Carribean: Brazil, Martinique

Africa: Ethiopia, Namibia

Europe: Poland, Ukraine

Asia and Oceania: Philippines, Thailand

This year’s pageant is significant as this is the second time that India is hosting the prestigious global event. The 71st edition, held in Mumbai, saw Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic being crowned Miss World.

Krystyna, Miss World winner from Czech Republic, crowned her successor Suchata Opal at the finale of the pageant.
