After multiple delays, Mass Jathara has finally found its release date. The film will hit theatres worldwide on October 31. With no major competition on the same day except for Baahubali re-release screenings, the team has locked the slot confidently.
But the road ahead is not entirely smooth. The biggest challenge for Mass Jathara is to build hype. The teaser and lyrical songs released so far did not create the expected buzz, with even one track facing criticism for excessive slang.
For director Bhanu Bhogavarapu, this marks his debut film. Though he already has a strong reputation as a star writer in Tollywood, stepping into the director’s chair brings fresh pressure. Expectations are high, yet the movie hasn’t made much noise in the market so far. Raviteja’s trademark energy is visible in the promos, but fans are slightly nervous that the story might be routine. However, the success of OG recently showed that even a familiar storyline can work if presented with strong elevation and gripping tempo. Bhanu will need to deliver the same magic.
Raviteja himself is in need of a solid comeback. Apart from Dhamaka and Waltair Veerayya, he hasn’t tasted real success in the past two years. His experiments have failed, and even regular formula films haven’t clicked. Producer Naga Vamsi too is banking on this film after back-to-back disappointments with Kingdom and War 2. Both actor and producer are hungry for a hit, and Mass Jathara is their big chance.
The film stars Sreeleela as the heroine, with music composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, expected to be one of the major highlights. The team is confident that this entertainer will finally satisfy fans who have been waiting for Raviteja to bounce back.
