Naga Chaitanya and Samantha shared the screen space together for the first time in Ye Maya Chesave. The film is heading up for a grand re release after almost 15 years. In a recent interview, the film’s director, Gautham Menon, shared how he crafted the first draft keeping Megastar Chiranjeevi in the climax. In reality, that did not happen ever but what he conceptualized is pretty interesting.

Gautham Menon said that he actually committed to doing a film for Mahesh Babu’s sister Manjula, keeping Mahesh in the lead role. After that, Gautham penned down this story and narrated it to Mahesh, who declined it politely, expressing his interest in doing an action film. When Gautham narrated it to another star hero in Telugu, the response was the same as Mahesh’s.

Hence, Gautham decided to do the film with newcomers in Telugu, then his producers insisted on bringing Naga chaitanya on board. In this scenario, Gautham said, “In the first draft I wrote, the climax is different. The girl is getting married somewhere else, far away from where the hero actually was.

The hero is shooting for his first film, with Megastar Chiranjeevi sir playing the lead. Chiranjeevi sir spots that the hero is dull and when asked, the hero shares about his girlfriend getting married. Then, Chiranjeevi sir arranges a helicopter for the hero in which he goes to the place where the heroine gets married. That’s how I have conceptualized it.”

While Simbhu played the lead role in the Tamil version, Naga Chaitanya did the Telugu version. Both the versions have become very big hits at the box office. Now, the Telugu version will re-release on July 19th.
