Rana Daggubati encouraged many talented people, as a producer and also as a presenter. His Spirit Media is distributing Praveena Paruchuri’s debut directorial venture Kothapallilo Okappudu, arriving in cinemas on July 18th.
Following a special screening, director Praveena Paruchuri expressed her gratitude for the positive response and for Rana’s unwavering support. “I can’t emphasize enough how approachable Rana has been,” she shared. “He embraced the film effortlessly, and now I truly understand his vision. I would love to collaborate with him again.”
Speaking about the film’s concept and characters, Praveena said, “The audience will see themselves in these characters. They’re all grey, deeply human, and opportunistic in their own ways. Each one undergoes a meaningful transformation.”
Rana Daggubati recalled being immediately drawn to the story when he first watched the film. “I loved the idea instantly. Every character felt familiar, like someone we all know. Praveena, a cardiologist in the USA, and Manoj, the lead actor who also works in LA, have done a remarkable job. They deserve a big round of applause. I hope Praveena continues practicing cardiology while also making more films. As for Manoj, his screen presence struck me right away. He’s a lovely actor with a lovely soul.”
When asked about future collaborations with Praveena, Rana added, “After the release, she’ll return to the U.S. and continue working as a cardiologist for another six months. But she’s already working on her next script. I’d love to do a film under her direction.”
