In recent months, the Andhra Pradesh government has been issuing temporary permissions for ticket price hikes ahead of big scale theatrical releases. Several producers have approached the AP government, requesting enhanced rates to support the recovery of production and marketing costs, especially in the early days of release.
Continuing this trend, the state government has now cleared a ticket hike for the upcoming film Kingdom, produced by Suryadevara Nagavamsi under Sithara Entertainments.
According to the official memo, theatres across Andhra Pradesh are allowed to increase ticket prices for Kingdom by ₹50 in single screens and ₹75 in multiplexes, including GST. This hike will be applicable for ten days, starting from the film’s release date, July 31, 2025.
The decision comes after a formal request was submitted by the producer and backed by the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce. With this clearance, Kingdom joins the list of Telugu films that have received similar permissions in 2025, including HIT 3, Robinhood, Kannappa, Kuberaa and a few others. These approvals are typically aimed at giving producers and distributors a revenue advantage during the initial release window.
The revised pricing could support Kingdom’s box office performance in its opening week, depending on audience turnout and reception once the film hits theatres.
