Bhallaladeva from Baahubali remains one of the landmark roles in the career of Rana Daggubati. He performed the character as if no one else could have done justice to it other than him. But apparently, the makers considered veteran actress Jayasudha’s son, Nihar Kapoor, for this role for a brief period.

Speaking in a recent interview, Nihar Kapoor said that the makers of Baahubali had approached him with the Bhallaladeva role initially when Rana opted out of it due to some reasons. He said that he also got trained for it for at least 3–4 weeks, and then Rana came back to the project again.

He said, “They told me that Rana decided the role and asked me if I was interested in doing the Kaalakeya role. They showed me the sketches of the Kaalakeya character, which had a lot of prosthetics, heavy makeup, and different kinds of costumes, which would hide my face.”

“My mother said that, as this is my first film, and since the role wouldn’t showcase my real face, I wouldn’t get established as an actor. Then, we took a call not to do it. However, things changed after the release and the character came out really well,” he added.

Nihar Kapoor expressed no regrets about not doing the film. Nihar will be soon seen in Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which is slated for release on July 24.
