After Pawan Kalyan became the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, he had to devote the majority of his time to public service, which affected the works of his pending films Hari Hara Veera Mallu, OG and Ustaad Bhagat Singh. All three films should have hit the screens by now, but have remained unfinished due to political commitments.
Meanwhile, OTT platforms’ deadlines are adding more pressure to the makers of these films. As we all know, release dates of many films are being fixed based on the deadlines given by OTT platforms. Due to that factor, there is pressure on HHMV and OG’s releases.
While Prime Video bagged HHMV’s OTT rights, Netflix acquired the digital rights of OG. According to the industry rumours, Hari Hara Veera Mallu should release on May 30 as per the deadline given by Prime Video. The shoot has been wrapped up only couple of days ago, and releasing the film in 24 days would be a herculean task for the makers. So, it has to be seen how they will deal with Prime Video’s deadline.
On the other side, we hear that as per Netflix’s deadline, even OG should hit the theatres this year. Because there is a majority of the shoot left to be finished, it is a big challenge for the makers to finish the film and release it within the deadline. It has to be seen how makers of these films cross these hurdles and manage a smooth release.
