Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan, hit theatres last Thursday amid high expectations. The film, which had special premieres on Wednesday night, opened well at the box office. However, the response from both audiences and critics was mixed. One of the key points of criticism was the visual effects, which several viewers felt were subpar for a film of this scale.

After a decent opening day, the film saw a noticeable dip on Friday, selling close to 1 lakh tickets through BookMyShow. But things turned around slightly over the weekend. Saturday registered a growth in bookings, crossing 1 lakh tickets again, and Sunday went a step further by surpassing Saturday’s numbers, showing clear signs of increased interest.

In response to the feedback, the makers acted swiftly. They reworked some of the criticised VFX portions and pushed updated content across all screens globally. This new version features improved visuals and better quality footage, which has been rolled out over the weekend. Starting Monday, regular ticket prices have been restored across all screens.

With these changes in place, theatre owners and the film’s team are hopeful that weekday collections will see steady footfalls. The updated version may also help in shifting public perception and extending the film’s run, especially among neutral audiences who were on the fence. The weekend growth, combined with quick corrective action by the team, gives the film a better shot at sustaining itself at the box office.
