The dull phase of the Telugu film industry continues at the box office with no solid hit over the last few months. After the big August releases, all eyes are now on the films that are hitting the screens in September. Here is a look at them:
1. Mirai:
Mirai is a pan-India superhero action thriller that features Teja Sajja in the lead role. Directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, this anticipated film is slated for a big worldwide release on September 5. It features Ritika Nayak, Manchu Manoj, Jagapathi Babu and others in key roles.
2. Ghaati:
Starring Anushka Shetty in the lead role, this movie is directed by Krish Jagarlamudi. Touted to be an action crime drama, Ghaati marks Anushka’s comeback after two years. Ghaati features Vikram Prabhu, Jagapathi Babu, Chaitanya Rao and others in main roles. It is slated for release on September 5.
3. The Girlfriend:
Featuring Rashmika Mandanna in the lead role, this female-oriented drama is slated for release on September 5. It is directed by actor Rahul Ravindran and features Deekshith Shetty of Dasara fame in a pivotal role.
4. Kishkindhapuri:
Touted to be a horror thriller set against the backdrop of a radio station, Kishkindapuri features Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas and Anupama Parameswaran in lead roles. Directed by Koushik Peggelapati, this movie will hit the theatres on September 12.
5. Little Hearts:
After delivering relatable dramas like the 90s and Anaganana, ETV Win is coming up with its new film, Little Hearts. Starring Mouli Tanuj and Shivani Nagaram in the lead roles, this movie will have a theatrical release on September 12 before it premieres on ETV Win digitally.
6. Bhadrakali:
Bichagadu fame Vijay Anthony, who recently came up with Maargan, is coming up with his new release “Bhadrakali” on September 19. The film is directed by Arun Prabhu and Asian Suresh Productions will be releasing it in Telugu.
7. Akhanda 2:
Nandamuri Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu’s highly anticipated film “Akhanda 2” is gearing up for a pan-India release on September 25. As it is a sequel to the blockbuster film Akhanda, there are high expectations for it.
8. OG:
Along with Balayya, Pawan Kalyan will end September on a high with his most-awaited film, OG. Directed by Sujeeth, this film will arrive in theatres on September 25. Priyanka Mohan, Emraan Hashmi, Shriya Reddy and others played key roles in it.
It remains to be seen how many of these anticipated films will light up the box office in September this year.
