Superstar Mahesh Babu is playing Lord Sriram for the first time in his career. For the first time ever, he will play God on the screen. There have been rumors about the same for quite some time but this is going to get official now. Directed by SS Rajamouli, Varanasi features Mahesh as Lord Ram.
Speaking at the event, Mahesh Babu remembered his father stating that he always listened to whatever he said but used to disagree to one thing, which is about playing god on the screen. Despite asking several times, Mahesh never agreed to play god on the screen.
However, Rajamouli convinced Mahesh and transformed Varanasi as his dream project. Speaking at the event, Rajamouli told that Mahesh looks more handsome and ferocious at the same time as Lord Sriram which will be a 30 minute episode that will blow everyone in theatres. The team recently completed the shoot of the same and has come out well.
Rajamouli opened up that he had inhibitions about imagining Mahesh as Lord Sriram but when the test shoot was done, Rajamouli is awestruck. Earlier, Mahesh is rumored to be a part of Prashanth Varma’s Jai Hanuman as Lord Sriram but everything is a speculation and he will play Lord Sriram officially in Varanasi.
The project looks like a mythological action adventure drama with time travel elements. The movie will hit the screens during Summer 2027.
