Rishab Shetty is back with Kantara Chapter 1, the prequel to his hit film Kantara. The movie stars Rishab Shetty, Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah. It is directed by Rishab Shetty, produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films. The film will release on October 2, with paid premieres on October 1.

Recently, Rishab faced criticism after a pre-release event where he spoke only in Kannada. Some Telugu fans felt he could have spoken in Telugu or English to connect with them. The issue sparked discussions on social media, with some fans calling for a boycott, linking it to the challenges Telugu cinema faces in Karnataka.

On Tuesday evening, Rishab and his team made their final promotional stop at Vijayawada Expo. During the event, Rishab addressed the audience in Telugu. He thanked fans for the success of Kantara Part 1, which marks its third anniversary, and hoped for the same support for Kantara Chapter 1.

Rishab admitted that he is still learning Telugu but is trying to improve. He also thanked Jr NTR, who attended the Hyderabad pre-release event, and Prabhas, who launched the film’s trailer. He gave special thanks to Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for supporting the film and approving special ticket price hikes.

The Government Order allows ticket price increases of ₹100 for multiplexes and ₹75 for single screens, similar to earlier allowances for some medium-scale Telugu films.

On a lighter note, Rishab said he is working on his next film with Mythri Makers, Jai Hanuman, and hopes to speak Telugu more fluently by the time it releases.
