Here’s a ‘big’ announcement! Apple’s highest-grossing sports drama, F1: The Movie, is revving up for its third lap at Indian IMAX theaters from tomorrow. The film’s distribution house, Warner Bros. India, has left F1 fans thrilled with the surprise announcement on Thursday evening following overwhelming demand from movie lovers.
Warner Bros. India had earlier concluded the film’s initial IMAX run to allow the arrival of the blockbuster superhero movie, Superman: Legacy, in the IMAX format. F1’s comeback will offer a special opportunity for racing and F1 fans to experience the movie’s breathtaking visuals on the giant screen.
Starring Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a retired Formula 1 driver, who teams up with a talented rookie, Joshua Pearce, portrayed by Damson Idris, to change the fate of the struggling APXGP racing team, owned by Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem). The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Lewis Hamilton and Jerry Bruckheimer, with music by the legendary Hans Zimmer.
F1 earned critical acclaim for its compelling human drama set against the fast-paced and exhilarating racing backdrop. The film was released on June 27. The film has earned over $400 million at the global box office, with more than Rs 100 crore gross in India.
