Tollywood star Prabhas’ schedule is jam-packed for the next couple of years with back-to-back projects. Prabhas is currently juggling The Raja Saab and Fauji simultaneously, while he also has his silver jubilee film, Spirit, and the highly anticipated sequels to Salaar and Kalki in the pipeline.
Meanwhile, a crazy project featuring Prabhas under the direction of Hanu-Man fame Prasanth Varma made a lot of noise earlier this year. The film, tentatively titled Raka, is touted as a mythological magnum opus based on the story of Bakasura.
The project is rumoured to be part of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU), and it will be bankrolled by Hombale Films, the reputed banner that signed a three-film deal with Prabhas. The gorgeous young beauty Bhagyashri Borse is said to be in consideration for the female lead.
On the sidelines of The South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) 2025 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City, on Friday night, Prasanth Varma spilled the beans about his “most rebellious project” with Prabhas. In an exclusive chitchat with FilmShlim, Prasanth Varma, not taking Prabhas’ name, said, “Be prepared, whenever the actor gives the dates, we are ready to shoot.”
However, it will be interesting to see how Prabhas will manage to allocate his dates to Prasanth Varma’s ambitious project in the midst of his busy schedules. Prabhas will next join hands with Sandeep Reddy Vanga for Spirit, and he is expected to wrap up Spirit without working on other projects to maintain consistency in his looks.
Following the blockbuster success of Hanu-Man across the world, Prabhas fans were thrilled with the news of the actor joining hands with a talented young filmmaker like Prasanth Varma. The icing on the cake is that Prasanth Varma has just won the Best Director (Critics) award at the just-concluded day 1 of the SIIMA Awards.
