The early monsoon showers in Mumbai have brought with them a spike in waterborne illnesses, and Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi is the latest to be affected. The actor has tested positive for dengue, causing a temporary halt in his shoot for the highly-anticipated Telugu film OG.
Reportedly, Emraan was filming his portions in Aarey Colony, Goregaon, when he began experiencing symptoms consistent with dengue. He wasn’t feeling well and showed typical signs of the illness. On the doctors’ advice, he underwent tests, which confirmed it was dengue.
Despite the setback, Emraan maintained his professionalism. He promptly informed the production team about his condition and conveyed his inability to continue shooting for now. The team was supportive and advised him to prioritize his recovery. Currently resting at home, Emraan is expected to be out of action for at least a week. His return to the sets will depend on how quickly he recovers.
OG marks Emraan Hashmi’s debut in Telugu cinema. The film features Pawan Kalyan in the lead, with Priyanka Mohan as the female lead. Emraan plays the antagonist in this high-octane action drama. Directed by Sujeeth of Saaho fame and backed by DVV Entertainment, the banner behind RRR, OG is slated for a grand worldwide release on September 25.
