Devi Sri Prasad is undoubtedly one of the finest music directors Telugu cinema has ever seen. Over the years, his music has turned average films into hits and hits into blockbusters. His songs have become timeless and continue to rule playlists.

However, in recent years, DSP went through a rough patch. Barring Pushpa: The Rise, most of his albums didn’t make much of a mark. Albums like Waltair Veerayya were decent but didn’t reach the heights expected from a composer of his stature.

But things have now taken a positive turn. With three back-to-back biggies – Pushpa 2: The Rule, Thandel, and Kuberaa, DSP has made a solid comeback. It’s safe to say he has delivered a musical hat-trick.

Pushpa 2 is already a sensation. The songs have become a rage nationwide, and the soundtrack is being widely celebrated. DSP’s tunes have played a major role in building the film’s hype even before its release.

In the case of Thandel, though the film opened to mixed talk, DSP’s album gave it the push to become a box office hit. The songs connected well with audiences and became some of the most streamed tracks of the year.

And now comes Kuberaa. The film, which released today, is receiving positive reviews from both critics and audiences. Along with the performances of Dhanush and Nagarjuna and Sekhar Kammula’s direction, DSP’s music is being praised for adding emotional depth to the film. Even though the number of songs was limited, the background score stood out and perfectly matched the film’s tone.

Before these, DSP also worked on Kanguva. Though the film didn’t meet expectations, his work was noticed and appreciated.

With this strong comeback, DSP is clearly entering a new phase in his career. He’s once again the go-to composer for major projects. Up next, he is working on Ustad Bhagat Singh, reuniting with Pawan Kalyan and Harish Shankar, and also scoring for Gali Janardhan Reddy’s son’s debut film, Junior.
