This year’s Diwali box office wasn’t as great as last year in Telugu states, but audiences still had a bunch of new films to pick from. Nearly half a dozen releases, including a few dubbed ones, hit theaters during the festive weekend. Most of them completed their theatrical runs and are now ready for digital premieres. Here’s the full list of where each film is heading and when it will be available for streaming.
Mithra Mandali – Prime Video
The first Diwali release to arrive in theaters was Mithra Mandali, a comedy drama that couldn’t make the most of the festival window. The film ended up being a disappointment for both the trade and audience. After a short run of three weeks, it started streaming on Prime Video from November 6 with a recut version.
Telusu Kada, Dude (Dubbed) and Bison (Dubbed) – Netflix
Telusu Kada, Dude (Dubbed) and Bison (Dubbed) released on the same day. All three films have Netflix as their digital partner. With a four-week theatrical window, the movies are expected to arrive on the platform on November 14. Although the official confirmation from Netflix is awaited, internal reports suggest the streaming date will be announced soon.
K Ramp – Aha Video
Kiran Abbavaram’s K Ramp surprised many with its steady performance at the box office. The film received a decent word-of-mouth from audiences. After completing a 28-day theatrical window, the makers confirmed its OTT release on Aha Video starting November 15.
Thamma (Dubbed) – Prime Video
Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma, the Telugu-dubbed version of the Hindi film, follows a longer release gap as per Bollywood’s OTT norms. Hindi films typically require an eight-week window before digital streaming. As per reports, Thamma is expected to arrive on Prime Video around mid-December.
While this Diwali lineup didn’t deliver any major box-office hits, many of these titles are finding a new audience on OTT. Viewers who missed them in theaters will soon have a chance to catch all the festive releases online in the coming days.
