Producer Dil Raju today opened up about the huge financial loss he faced with Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and directed by Shankar. When the film was first announced, expectations were sky-high. A big-budget film with a star hero, a legendary director, and one of Telugu cinema’s top producers, fans were thrilled.

But over time, delays and underwhelming promotional content reduced the buzz. By the time Game Changer hit screens, audience interest had dropped. The film received negative talk on day one and failed badly at the box office. According to Raju, it turned out to be the biggest loss of his career, with estimates crossing ₹100 crore.

Speaking about the experience, Dil Raju said he sensed trouble even before the release. He knew the movie wouldn’t do well and prepared himself mentally. However, he pinned his hopes on another film from his own banner, Sankranthiki vasthunam, which was set for a festive release.

Luckily, Sankranthiki vasthunam turned out to be a blockbuster hit and helped him recover. Raju said he didn’t take any profit from that film. Instead, he gave all the earnings to the distributors who lost money on Game Changer. This, he says, helped them stay afloat and also gave some relief to the film industry.

He also thanked Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan for kindly allowing Sankranthiki vasthunam to release during the Sankranti season, knowing the situation. Raju ended by saying that while Game Changer caused massive losses, the success of the other film helped balance things out.
