August, the most-hyped and anticipated month in film circles, ended up as a dud. Films like Coolie and War 2, which carried huge expectations, ended up as flops. The recently released Kotha Lokah has been generating decent buzz, but its fate can be fully evaluated only after the weekend.
Meanwhile, the trade circles are pinning hopes on the September releases. Three notable films are gearing up for release in the first week of September. Here is a look at them.
1. Ghaati:
After a two-year hiatus, star actress Anushka is returning to the big screen with her latest film, Ghaati. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, this action drama is set for a grand release on September 5. The trailer garnered a decent response, and it remains to be seen how the film performs at the box office.
2. Little Hearts:
This ETV original film has been making waves on social media over the last few weeks due to the aggressive promotions. Starring Mouli Tanuj and Shivani Nagaram in lead roles, Little Hearts is a nostalgic comedy entertainer which is set in the late 2000s and early 2010s. The trailer received a positive response and the film is targeted at youngsters. Its fate will be decided when the movie hits the screens on September 5.
3. Madharaasi (Tamil dubbed):
Director AR Murugadoss joined hands with Sivakarthikeyan for the action thriller, Madharaasi. The film is having a simultaneous Telugu release on September 5. Murugadoss has been going through a rough phase over the last few years and it remains to be seen if he bounces back with this film. On the other side, Sivakarthikeyan scored a massive hit with his last film Amaran and is hoping to continue the success streak with this movie.
