One of the most popular Tamil directors of this generation, Lokesh Kanagaraj, is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Coolie, featuring Superstar Rajinikanth. This much-anticipated action drama is set for a worldwide release on August 14. There has been so much buzz around Lokesh’s next projects for a long time. Finally, he opened up about the same.

In a recent interview, Lokesh said that he would be working on Lokesh Cinematic Universe’s Kaithi 2 next, and after that, he may start working on a superhero action film with Aamir Khan. Later, he would move on to other projects like Vikram 2, Rolex. He wished to make Master 2 and Leo 2, but Vijay won’t be available as he’ll be busy with politics.

While everyone thought that he would be working on Kaithi 2 and Vikram 2 after Coolie, Aamir’s movie came in the middle. It looks like commitments with star actors are affecting his much-anticipated LCU lineup.

“Kaithi 2 is my next. I have a commitment with Kamal sir to complete Vikram 2. I want to do Master 2 and Leo 2, but Vijay anna is not available, and we don’t know when he will be coming back. And there is Rolex. These are all the projects I have in the lineup. I don’t know when to do which film, as it depends on the actors’ availability and other factors. I am just figuring it out. After Kaithi 2, most probably it will be Aamir sir’s film. It is going to be the biggest superhero action film,” he said.

Initially, Lokesh had different plans after Leo. Everyone thought that he would be working on Kaithi 2, but he announced Coolie with Rajinikanth all of a sudden. It was stated that Coolie will not be a part of LCU.

Now, while everyone thought he would make Vikram 2 after Kaithi 2, he said he will work on Aamir Khan’s film. Again, Aamir Khan’s film is a standalone movie which has no connection with LCU.

While excitement around the LCU is high, Lokesh’s big-star commitments seem to be affecting its momentum. Now, all eyes are on how he manages to maintain the LCU tempo with films like Kaithi 2 and Vikram 2, despite juggling other major projects.
