Bunny Vas, who has been a long-time collaborator with Geetha Arts, recently launched his own banner, Bunny Vas Works, to produce stories he’s passionate about. His next release, Mithra Mandali, is set for Diwali. Earlier, he released Little Hearts under his banner, a small film made on a 2.5 crore budget that went on to earn nearly 50 crores at the box office.
To celebrate, Bunny Vas and the producers organized a grand success meet, inviting Vijay Deverakonda, Allu Aravind, Bandla Ganesh and others. During the event, Bandla Ganesh, known for being outspoken, made remarks about the film industry under the guise of a “reality check,” which did not sit well with everyone present.
At the event, Bandla Ganesh addressed Little Hearts lead actor Mouli. Referring to the attention Mouli had received after the film’s success, Ganesh advised him not to take comparisons, like being called “smarter than Vijay Deverakonda or Mahesh Babu,” seriously. He stressed that young actors should focus on their craft rather than praise or social media attention.
He added, “Whether it’s Vijay Deverakonda wishing you or Mahesh Babu tweeting, all this is temporary. In this industry, every Friday brings a new hero,” highlighting the fleeting nature of fame. These remarks, while meant as advice, felt out of place to many at the celebratory event.
Bunny Vas later shared his thoughts during the promotions of Mithra Mandali. He said, “I felt uncomfortable and disappointed with Bandla Ganesh’s words at the event. At one point, I considered going on stage to respond, but I decided against it to avoid overshadowing the celebration. I even thought about calling him later, but I didn’t.”
While some felt Ganesh’s points were valid in the harsh reality of the film industry, many believed the success meet was not the right place for them. Bunny Vas, as the distributor, had gathered the stars and dignitaries for a celebration, and the comments disrupted that.
