The Telangana government has strengthened its focus on eradicating drugs as well as promoting betting apps in the state. The officials are acting strictly on those who are committing offenses.

Meanwhile, the betting case that struck headlines a few months ago is back in the discussion. The Enforcement Directorate has filed cases on multiple celebrities. Earlier, the cops registered an FIR against some film personalities, and now, the ED has booked cases.

The people on the list are: Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna, Rana Daggubati, Niddhi Agerwal, Vijay Deverakonda, Prakash Raj, Ananya Nagalla, Sreemukhi, Shyamala, Varshini Sounderrajan, Siri Hanmanthu, Vasanthi Krishnan, Sobha Shetty, Amritha Choudhary, Nayani Pavani, Neha Pathan, Pandu, Padmavathi, Imran Khan, Vishnupriya, Harsha Sai, Bhayya Sunny Yadav, Tasty Teja, Rithu Chaudhary, and Bandaru Supritha.

The ED has booked cases against all the above individuals based on the FIRs registered and will initiate the process of investigation now. There are close to 29 celebrities, including the Youtubers and social media influencers on the list.

As per sections 318 (4), 112 read with 49, of BNS, and Telangana Gaming Act 3, 3(A), 4, and 66D of IT Act of 2000 and 2008, the cases have been booked.

The celebrities are endorsing the betting apps and influencing the general public to download these apps, which is eventually resulting in them losing money and further taking an extreme step to end their lives. The similar situations have been reported in multiple areas after which the police started to crack down this entire thread.

However, some of the celebrities named above either apologized or stopped their endorsements, they are still under the ED radar.
