After the likes of Prakash Raj and Vijay Deverakonda, actor Rana Daggubati appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for allegedly promoting illegal betting apps. The ED has been investigating the betting apps scam for the last few months and is actively questioning the celebrities who promoted these apps. Allegedly, money laundering has taken place in this betting app scam.
Rana was supposed to attend the interrogation last month, but he sought some time citing personal reasons. So, ED asked him to appear for the questioning on August 11. Thus, he appeared before the ED today at its office in Hyderabad. Reportedly, he is being questioned about his remuneration and commissions for the betting brand he endorsed.
While Prakash Raj was questioned for six hours, Vijay Deverakonda was interrogated for four hours. Rana’s questioning may last till late afternoon or evening, and more details will be revealed once he comes out of the interrogation. Meanwhile, actress Manchu Lakshmi has been asked to appear before the ED on August 13.
The Enforcement Directorate has booked 29 individuals, including actors, social media influencers, and other public figures, for allegedly promoting online betting platforms such as Jungle Rummy, Jeet Win, Lotus 365, and others. Among the high-profile names in the list are Rana Daggubati, Vijay Deverakonda, and Lakshmi Manchu.
