One of the most popular reality shows on Telugu television, Bigg Boss, is returning with its ninth season soon. King Nagarjuna will continue to host Bigg Boss 9, which is expected to start on September 7. This time, the makers made a big decision to mix the contestants with celebrities and commoners. Before the launch of the new season, BB makers will premiere a pre-season show named “Agni Pariksha”.
A total of 15 commoners have been shortlisted to participate in this Agnipariksha, which will premiere on Jio Hostar on August 22. Previous Bigg Boss contestants, Navdeep, Bindu Madhavi and Abhijeet are serving as the judges of the show. They would pick nine final contestants after conducting a series of tasks. This Agni Pariksha show will continue till the launch of Bigg Boss 9. This new move from the Bigg Boss team is raising curiosity about whether it would spice up things or backfire for the show.
Bigg Boss 9 would feature a total of 18 contestants, nine each from the celebrity and commoner categories. Once Agni Pariksha gets telecast for two weeks, the audience would get used to the faces of commoners and may also know about their characters, strengths and weaknesses. This would help commoners in creating their own fan base before entering the show.
On the other side, audiences may also sympathise with celebrities, who need more time to project their characters and game plans, compared to commoners. But at the same time, they have their own fan base, and they will also come up with a particular strategy after watching the commoners’ game in Agni Pariksha.
On the whole, this new strategy would definitely spice up things in Bigg Boss 9, and it remains to be seen if it also manages to bring good ratings for the show.
