Director AR Murugadoss is all set to bounce back with his next film titled Sikander. Despite Salman Khan being a part of the project, the film is carrying low buzz. The team is preparing for a release on March 30th but unfortunately, it is falling on Sunday. Ahead of Ramzan on 31st, the team planned to release the film. Usually, it will be beneficial if the film on Friday but it may not happen here.

It is a bad sign for the film as everyone will be in the festive mood on the 31st and on subsequent days, it will be the start of the week. Despite high expectations, Sikander has already faced criticism. The teaser and song promos received mixed reactions. Additionally, the film’s songs have failed to make a significant impact.

Given these concerns, the makers might be reconsidering their release strategy. A Friday release carries the risk of immediate audience feedback influencing the weekend box office. But, a Sunday release can be worse than that.

For director A.R. Murugadoss, Sikander is a crucial project. Despite delivering Bollywood hits like Ghajini and Holiday, he has been away from Hindi cinema for a long time, while top South Indian stars have also distanced themselves from his projects. A successful comeback with Sikander could revive his standing, especially with his upcoming Tamil film starring Sivakarthikeyan.

Adding to the film’s appeal is Rashmika Mandanna in the female lead. While her role may follow a familiar template, her recent streak of box office successes makes her a valuable asset.
