As the Baahubali franchise completes a decade, the makers are preparing to bring back the epic saga to theatres in a new format. Baahubali: The Epic, a recut and remastered version combining both parts is set to release on the big screen on October 31.
For years, Baahubali has been a constant presence on OTT platforms, especially Netflix, where both Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion were available globally in Hindi & English to all International Audience. However, viewers recently noticed that the films are no longer streaming on Netflix.
With Baahubali: The Epic just weeks away from release, many wonder if this sudden removal is a coincidence or a deliberate strategy by the makers to build anticipation. Some reports suggest the streaming rights agreement may have simply expired, while others believe it could be a planned move to spark curiosity and drive audiences back to theatres.
Following this, if the films are taken down from other regional OTT platforms as well, it would strengthen the idea that this is part of the marketing plan. Either way, it’s a move that has caught everyone’s attention.
Directed by SS Rajamouli, Baahubali stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, and Tamannaah. The upcoming Baahubali: The Epic is produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni, with music by MM Keeravani. The film will release in large-screen formats such as IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, DBox, and EpiQ.
