In recent years, moviegoers have shown a growing interest in premium large formats like IMAX, Dolby Vision and 4DX. Audiences paying higher ticket prices expect a memorable experience in these formats. Delivering this on time and at scale remains a challenge for many filmmakers, especially for big-budget Pan-India films.

Before SS Rajamouli’s next project, a globetrotting action-adventure with Mahesh Babu scheduled for 2027, he is bringing back Baahubali in a new form. Baahubali: The Epic, a recut and reimagined version of the two-part franchise condensed into a single film, will release worldwide on October 31. The makers promise this will be the most visually impressive version of Baahubali yet.

The film will release in multiple premium formats including IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, DBox, EpiQ, ICE, and PCX. This is notable as very few Pan-India films are able to deliver across so many large-screen formats.

Producer Shobu Yarlagadda also tweeted about the logistical challenges of delivering content on time for multiple formats, “Today, with multiple release formats, languages and worldwide release, on-time content delivery has become a challenging logistical exercise. Reviewing the many formats and timelines for delivery with Annapurna Studios. We ensure all content is delivered seamlessly and on time to all the partners.”
