Harshavardhan Rameshwar, best known for his intense background scores in Arjun Reddy and Animal, is finally entering the big league. After years of working on smaller projects, the composer is now set to collaborate with two of Telugu cinema’s top directors, Trivikram Srinivas and Puri Jagannadh.
On Thursday, the makers of Puri Jagannadh and Vijay Sethupathi’s upcoming film announced that Harshavardhan is onboard. The team wrote, “The blockbuster composer whose music speaks louder than words. Team #PuriSethupathi welcomes National Award-winning music director @rameemusic on board. Get ready for a new-age musical experience that blends action, emotion, and elevation.”
The film, tentatively titled Puri Sethupathi, is expected to be officially titled Slumdog. The team initially considered names like Beggar and Bhiksham Dehi, but reportedly finalized Slumdog. The title and teaser launch, which was planned for two weeks ago, was postponed due to the Karur stampede incident in Tamil Nadu. The film also stars Samyuktha Menon, Tabu, and Duniya Vijay.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Harshavardhan has also been roped in for Trivikram Srinivas’ next film with Venkatesh. This marks the first time Trivikram is directing Venkatesh, after previously working with him as a writer. The project, said to be a family entertainer, began shooting on Wednesday and is targeting a summer 2026 release.
Though Thaman recently stated during OG promotions that he would be scoring music for the Venkatesh–Trivikram film, new reports claim Harshavardhan has already started composing. It remains to be seen whether both composers will collaborate or if Harshavardhan will handle the entire soundtrack. Srinidhi Shetty has been confirmed as the female lead, while the second heroine is yet to be finalized.
With two major directors known for their strong musical sense backing him, Harshavardhan Rameshwar seems poised to take his career to the next level.
