Pawan Kalyan’s OG is the next big release in Telugu. The film is releasing ahead of Dusshera festival and amidst the holiday season. Naturally, the tendency to watch a new release will be higher during holidays, and moreover, it features Pawan Kalyan in the lead role. So, the craze is already huge for the film. Even before the trailer has arrived, there are discussions about the film’s premiere shows and collections on social media.

Most likely, the makers will plan and apply for special shows, paid premieres and ticket hikes with the governments of both the Telugu states. The plan is to organize the paid premieres on the day before the film’s release. As the film is hitting the screens on September 25th, we can expect the premieres on the night of 24th.

But, there is no clarity if the government of Telangana will grant the permission for the special shows and ticket hikes. After Pushpa 2 fiasco, the government tightened the rules and will be granting special permissions to movies with patriotism or Telangana agitation based or some exceptional movies based on the content, unlike regular commercial movies.

In the same context, the government recently allowed hikes for Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu, on the grounds of it being a historic movie. Since OG is a gangster drama, we are unsure of how it will be received by the government.

On the flip side, it will be easy for the makers to gain permissions in Andhra Pradesh. The fans are hopeful about 1 AM shows in the state but if at all permissions are granted in Telangana, the shows will begin from 4 AM only. The official confirmations and the government approvals will arrive only few days close to the film’s release.

To streamline the process, the tickets will be made available online at least 4 to 5 days before the release, to ensure the booking errors are avoided in the last minute and it will also help the distributors understand the public pulse and then plan additional shows if required.

Directed by Sujeeth and produced by DVV Danayya, OG is already carrying a positive hype. The trailer and a solid pre-release event should bring grand openings to the movie.
