50 Years In The Industry: Balakrishna Felicitated at IFFI – FilmShlim

Seasoned thespian and politician Nandamuri Balakrishna has been felicitated with a special honour during the ongoing 56th International Film Festival of India in Goa. The cultural event which witnesses the participation of eminent film personalities and delegates from all over the country kicked off with an opening ceremony on Thursday. 

Nandamuri Balakrishna completed 50 years as an actor and achieved numerous laurels throughout his illustrious career. As a mark of respect and recognition for his contribution to the art of cinema, Balakrishna has been bestowed with a special honour on the first day of this festival. Goa Governor and former TDP Polit Bureau Member P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan and Goa Chief Minister Pramod Savant graced the occasion. 

Speaking at the event, Balakrishna expressed his profound gratitude for all those who stood by him during his five decade career as an actor. Thanking his parents NTR and Basavatarakam for inspiring him, Balakrishna said he is a proud son who is carrying forward their legacy. He also thanked his wife Vasundhara for being a constant support and playing an instrumental role in his career. 

Earlier this year, the Hindupur MLA was conferred with Padma Bhushan by the government of India for his social service through Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital and his inspiring journey in film industry. 

On the work front, Balayya is awaiting the release of his upcoming pan-India film Akhanda 2. He will next team up with Gopichand Malineni for a historical action drama.
